Recruitment & Induction
TL Experience/ Learning
Consulted our key population networks: TL understood that in PNG context, recognition and remuneration were very important. In 2011 TL conduct a review of volunteer models and consulted with key populations – this resulted in the ‘Price of Wok Sol’ Report. Report recommendations guided many of our strategies to increase key populations including:
-
Affirmative Recruitment practices: TL introduced affirmative recruitment practices that meant that members of key populations were given priority in recruitment....
-
Recruitment processes: were tailored to meet the literacy levels of of the key populations we worked with
-
Paid part-time Field Officers: NACS introduced a volunteer policy that stated that people working in HIV needed to be paid at least the minimum wage
-
Volunteer recognition: This process led to the Volunteer Recognition system in TL
