Supervision, Coaching and Mentoring

TL Experience/Learning

Local Field Officers and volunteers were supervised and supported by full-time Project Officers (POs). POs managed around four sites each.

POs were managed and supported by Regional Coordinators (RCs), who managed around 4 POs each.

This regional and field team was backed up by a national team of local and international advisers, managers and support people.

Each quarter, a national meeting or a regional exchange meeting was held to give staff face-to-face contact and time to gain support and build skills.

Initially, local level coaching was carried out quarterly (between quarterly face to face meetings, by international short-term advisers, working along local national and regional staff. As local skills levels increased, this coaching was taken over by national staff.
