Referrals and Service Pathways

TL Experience/ Learning

One of the main aims of TL2 was to increase the effectiveness of referral to STI, HIV testing, reproductive health, sexual violence and HIV treatment and care services.

This was achieved through accompanied referrals and through the development of good relationships between TL staff and volunteers and local health service providers.

We produced a series of Service pathway maps for Field Officers and volunteers to use in outreach to connect people with services. We also developed relationships with the staff in these services so that they would become more accepting of people from key populations and understand their needs better.
